We provide ships valuations for all purposes. These have included:

  • Security for a proposed ships mortgage or loan applications for banks or finance companies
  • Security for an existing mortgage where lenders wish to monitor the value of their security
  • Reserve price for court sales and creditor information
  • Insurance or general average
  • Valuation of the asset for stock market flotation’s
  • Valuation of assets for annual accounts/audit purposes
  • Assessment of value for shared family or group ownership apportionment
  • Litigation purposes, legal disputes, or to assist accountants with clients financial affairs.
  • Determination of value for central or regional government departments i.e. Navy, IRD, ARC, DOC, Court Registrars

When instructing us to value your vessel it is helpful for us to know the purposes for which the valuation is required. There are sophisticated mechanisms for valuing ocean going vessels. We have a considerable pool of expertise within our group of marine companies and associates. Often, collaboration is sort with reliable international Valuer’s of standing such as the opinion of Valuer’s to Admiralty Marshall in the United Kingdom or members of the Baltic Exchange. For valuations of smaller local vessels we go to considerable lengths to research against current market influences.
